She's A Little Runaway

Before there was Bon Jovi, there was Jon Bon Giovi and these guys.

In 1983, Bon Jovi visited the local radio station WAPP 103.5FM "The Apple" in Lake Success, New York. He spoke directly to the D.J., Chip Hobart, who suggested Bon Jovi let WAPP include the song "Runaway" on a compilation album of local homegrown talent. Bon Jovi was reluctant but eventually gave them the song on which Bon Jovi had used studio musicians to play on the track "Runaway" (which was written in 1980). The studio musicians who helped record "Runaway" were known as "The All Star Review." They were:

David Michael Sabo, nicknamed "The Snake," is a rock guitarist who plays in the heavy metal band Skid Row.

Tim Pierce is a Los Angeles-based session guitarist who has appeared on hundreds of music albums and motion picture soundtracks. Pierce is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His credits include work with Rick Springfield, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Toy Matinee, Meat Loaf, Phil Collins, Goo Goo Dolls, Christina Aguilera, Faith Hill, Tracy Chapman, Aly & AJ, and many other artists. He also released one solo album, Guitarland, in 1995.

Roy Bittan has played on several dozen albums, not only for Springsteen but also David Bowie, Jackson Browne, Tracy Chapman, Chicago, Catie Curtis, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Meat Loaf, Stevie Nicks, Bob Seger, Patty Smyth, Jim Steinman, and Bonnie Tyler.

Frankie LaRocka (b. c 1954 - d. 11 May 2005) was a notable musician and producer. He was a member of Scandal and at various stages played the drums with Bon Jovi, David Johansen, Bryan Adams and John Waite. In the 1990's, he became an A&R man and producer with his most notable work being with the Spin Doctors on their breakthrough album A Pocketful of Kryptonite. He played drums on Bon Jovi's first album.

Hugh McDonald (born December 28, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a session musician and bassist. He has played with many artists both live and in the studio, and has recorded with Willie Nelson, Steve Goodman, Ringo Starr, Bon Jovi, Lita Ford, Michael Bolton, Cher, Alice Cooper, Jon Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, and others. He is currently working with Bon Jovi, but is regarded as an 'unofficial' member of Bon Jovi. Although he gets to play his bass lines live on tour, McDonald is left out of publicity shoots and album covers. Band members say they agreed never to officially replace former bass player Alec John Such.
